Kudos Governor Rajan for a great job done! No crisis or panic in the markets.
While we respect his decision for not seeking a second term, we do feel that Rajan has acted in haste by disembarking at a time when India is poised to make history under PM NaMo’s leadership. It may turn out to be a missed opportunity that few are blessed with.
As happens in the corporate world, every individual in general and senior executives in particular must align with the leader’s overall vision to enable the organization to move forward in the chosen direction. This rule applies in all walks of life that require team members to work coherently. Notwithstanding the sniping by certain quarters, perhaps Rajan could have continued with a little adjustment on both sides.
We do hope in rejoining academia, Raghuram Rajan would create a few more professionals of his image who could one day help global business and government leaders steer the destinies of their countries.
We wish Rajan a very best in all his future endeavors!
