Mr. Suresh N. Talwar, is a Managing Partner of Messrs. Talwar, Thakore & Associates, a corporate law firm, which he co-founded and set up in April 2007. Prior to setting-up Talwar, Thakore & Associates, he served as Senior Partner and Advisor at Messrs. Crawford Bayley & Company, Solicitors & Advocates, until March 31, 2006.
Suresh Talwar is a distinguished and reputed Solicitor & Advocate. His areas of expertise include corporate law, taxation, commercial documentation, anti-trust laws, project finance, infrastructure projects and international securities offerings. He is a solicitor of international repute and a Legal Counsel to various Indian companies, multinational corporations and Indian and foreign banks. He has specialized in corporate laws, corporate taxation, foreign exchange laws, MRTP, international issue of securities, commercial documentation and contracts. As a practicing lawyer with the Bombay High Court since 1966, he has over 43 years of experience in the legal profession, specializing in corporate law dealing specifically with mergers and acquisitions, corporate taxation, foreign exchange laws, international issues of Indian securities, and real estate laws among others.
Mr. Talwar holds a Bachelors Degree in Commerce from the University of Bombay in 1959 and a Bachelors Degree in Law from the Government Law College, Bombay in 1961.
During his experience of over 4 decades in the legal profession in India, Mr. Talwar has served the Boards of several eminent Indian and Multinational Companies. He has been associated with these companies in various capacities – either as a legal advisors representing his law firm or as an independent member of their Board, in the capacities of Independant, Non-executive Director.
In his personal life, Mr. Talwar is fond of racing thoroughbred horses and owns 4 race horses which have all won races at race courses in India. He is also an avid golfer with a handicap of 24 and has been passionate about playing golf for the last two decades.
